The Connecticut Captive Insurance Association (“CCIA”), the state’s captive trade organization, announced today the addition of a number of new members, including key participants in the captive insurance industry.
Joining the CCIA as a Bronze Founding Member is the Bartlett Actuarial Group, an independent actuarial and risk management consulting firm offering services to a nationwide clientele. “We are thrilled to have Bartlett Actuarial joining the CCIA. Bill Bartlett and his team are well-respected members of the captive insurance community. Their support of the CCIA and Connecticut’s captive initiative further validates the strides we are making to have the state recognized as a world-class domicile,” said Tom Hodson, President of the CCIA.
Bill Bartlett, President of Bartlett Actuarial Group, said about their membership in the CCIA, “Our firm is very excited about joining the Connecticut Captive Insurance Association and participating in the Connecticut captive initiative. Connecticut’s central northeast location, home to 29 Fortune 1000 companies, proximity to major corporate headquarters in the Northeast, and, most importantly, long history as a center of the United States domestic insurance industry make it an ideal location to set up a captive. It will not be too long before the support of the Connecticut Insurance Department and the enthusiastic work of the CCIA will help turn Connecticut into one of the leading domiciles.”
Also joining the CCIA as Annual Members are OneBeacon Professional Insurance, Ernst & Young, Spring Consulting Group and Actuarial & Technical Solutions. OneBeacon Professional Insurance, based in Farmington, Connecticut and a member of OneBeacon Insurance Group, specializes in professional liability solutions for a range of targeted industries. Ernst & Young is well recognized as a global leader in assurance, tax, transactions and advisory services. Spring Consulting Group is a leading provider at developing integrated and innovative solutions with a focus on employee benefits, risk management and wealth strategies. Finally, Actuarial & Technical Solutions is an actuarial consulting firm with expertise in workers compensation and other property and casualty lines, such as general liability and commercial auto, and whose clients range from small self-insureds to large Fortune 500 companies.
“In an effort to build on the success the CCIA enjoyed in 2012 with a dedicated group of Founding Members, we introduced our Annual Membership category in order to broaden the membership base and get more companies involved in Connecticut’s captive initiative,” said Hodson. He continued: “To have market leaders like OneBeacon Pro, Ernst & Young and Spring Consulting Group step up and join so quickly is exciting. Their collective depth and breadth of experience in the captive industry will significantly benefit the market in Connecticut.”
