Connecticut's Captive Industry Celebrates Continued Growth

Breaking News! A recent press release from the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) reveals that Connecticut added nine new captive insurers and 17 new captive protected cells last year, marking a 17% and 64% increase respectively over 2023.

Commissioner Mais commented that Connecticut’s continued reputation as a “domicile of choice” is rewarding, but not unexpected considering that “Connecticut’s strong insurance industry ecosystem, timely updated captive legislation and highly skilled professional workforce sets the “Insurance Capital” apart from other domiciles.”
