Connecticut has earned two distinctions as "Top Domicile" in 2022! The first recognition, “Captive Domicile of the Year” for smaller domicile states (those with less than $5b in gross written premiums), was awarded by Captive Review. The second was awarded by Captive International for "Top Domicile" as part of their 2022 US Awards Program.
These recognitions for Connecticut are a testament to the great work of the CT Insurance Department and CTCIA and the many companies, service providers and professionals who have worked tirelessly to improve and grow the Connecticut captive insurance domicile and market. This accolades are spreading world-wide and have been noted in a number of trade industry newsletters and international publications.
In August, CTCIA President P.J. Cimini attended the Captive Review awards banquet at the Vermont Captive Insurance Assn's Annual Conference with Fenhua Liu, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Captive Insurance for the State of CT Insurance Department; Ron Roth, President of NNA Advisors; and Hong Guo, EVP & Chief Insurance Officer of Arbol.
In September, Fenhua Liu, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Captive Insurance for the State of CT Insurance Department, spoke with Captive International about the pro-captive legislation passed in 2022 that provides benefits for captives that domicile and re-domicile within the state.
